The "Great American Movie" Was made by a Brit But they are would-be Americans Maybe if the Mayflower Had fit into their schedule The "Great American Novel" Is way too long And the writer couldn't even spell And the editor for the book was Oliver Cromwell The "Great American Album" Was made by cats Whose hair shagged and mopped Emulating Liverpudlians Who were straight but sashayed Who will become the next Great American? And what art will they make? Isn't it ironic that we all speak English? But in culture and geography, we're a million miles away? THE GREAT AMERICAN DOESN'T EXIST!

Peppermint Patty had a root beer float And drank it to the last drop You can't find her just like a TV remote And the California stop She's so mean and she's so clean Peppermint Patty, what a crazy scene! Tsundoku Tammi has too many books And if you don't believe what I say Hypochondriac's a small-time crook At Kramers' almost every day She's so smart with her shopping cart Tsundoku Tammi, I want to steal your heart Everybody's got to have some fun! Everyone's got a vice now and I sure as hell got one! Vaporwave Vicky likes lemonade As ironic as they come But she don't know she got a life to save And it's Windows '91 She’s so brave with all her braids Vaporwave Vicky's on the computer all day Mötorhead Mary's at the record store Today she just got paid But leaving the store, she had an accident Split her open like crème brulée She’s so cute with her go-go boots Mötorhead Mary's living it up like it's '82 Everybody's got to have some fun! Everyone's got a vice now and I sure as hell got one!

When I played piano for M.C.C. I was in the place I always wanted to be In a big, big house in Baltimore I played an F blues and "Stagger Lee" M.C.C. was so impressed She asked me so and made a guess: "Do you love me?" I said no but I should've said yes I'm in love! I'm in love! But it's not the first time that I'm in love I'm in love! But one thing that affirmed my soul I believe love is in control Yet she wouldn't love me Even if my name was Nicole

This isn't a Javier Marías novel You don't have to overexplain or overanalyze That's the quickest way for your brain to get fried And make sure you drink more water and stop smoking cigarettes The worst thing in the world Is having a thought you don't want to think Imagine all the possibilities Like what if the Titanic didn't sink? There are some things we should consider And other things that are basically litter If you have a thought that's intrusive It's not evidence of anything conclusive These thoughts simply aren't real Because if you wanted to do it, it wouldn't be a big deal You're not lying to yourself

Everything is automated in a pleasure garden Siddhartha's listening to the river But one day that river will be gone Sing along... Everything is automated in a pleasure garden

Do you work at a movie theater? Because you're really good at projecting You yell at me and say it's my fault That I'm to blame The years go by and it's always the same But I have some psychological insight on your little game I think it's because you see me as a threat And you fear me because deep down you envy me But I don't understand I'm always there to help you out I'm always there to hear you out You say I'm vain and arrogant But words like that don't just pop out of thin air Unless there's something you haven't told us yet Yeah, there's something you haven't told us yet I wonder what it is that fills you with so much rage I wonder what it is that makes you feel ashamed But I don't despair and I do not cry Even when I shouldn't I avert my eyes To the drama you're just projecting Yeah, you're just projecting

In My Pocket 03:43
I wish I knew French So that way I could read those pocket books The Folio books Les livres du poche, too If I could trade it all to speak fluent French You know I would The closest we have are those mass market paperbacks But they don't last long nor are they sleek and compact I was in Politics & Prose and was looking in the French section The Folio books looked so beautiful To read all those books in their original languages Hell, I'd even try Proust or Monte Cristo if it meant reading books that cute If only I could I'd be so happy, so eternally happy But it's a lot of work to read in another language Hell, I can barely read Spanish and it takes a lot of effort And I was raised speaking it What makes me think I could tackle French? For now, I'll just spend time in my reverie Reading books that fit in my pocket perfectly At least we have Penguin Classics Those are simple and sleek Have you ever bought a book because the cover looked chic?

Last night I'm so glad to say That I danced with Jessica When George told me she wanted to dance I didn't think I had a chance But Bill noticed from far away A few girls called us "HPOA's" Seori ordered us Fireballs We danced like there was no tomorrow Then I woke up in George's basement With a scorching headache I flipped through Macbeth to pass the time George and Seori didn't wake up until nine I only had three hours of sleep Bill picked me up and told me he scored, too Apparently with some guy named Lou Everyone needs someone In Washington, D.C. If you're out on a Friday night Showtime's the place to be

Oh, Natalie 02:33
People talkin' politics But I don't really give a shit Of all the talking heads There's only one who's legit Oh, Natalie Can you save us please? The country's going to hell Unless it's under your spell Cultural Marxism will never end If the incels win, we will have state-appointed girlfriends But if it's up to you We can make it through!
